Located approximately 10 minutes away from the tourist beaches of Agoho and Yumbing, in the mountainside of the famous Mt. Hibok-Hibok volcano, which supplies the hot and crystal clear water.
volcanically naturally heated water comes right out of the forest with a temperature of just above 40°C. It is then mixed with colder water and guided into 4 separate pools which are beautifully arranged in cascades. The highest pool has the highest temperature at 40°C while the second pool which is the biggest is at about 35°C and perfect for swimming. The water in the remaining pools is colder and offer some refreshment after a hot bath.
Ardent Hot Springs Resort is located at the foot of Mount Hibok-Hibok, Mambajao, Camiguin. The water is hot because of Mount Hibok-Hibok, also called as Catarman Volcano, an active volcano and is part of the pacific ring of fire. There are six pools in Ardent Hot Springs, each has different temperatures and separated by tiers or layers.
The biggest pool is the third and can reach up to 6 feet in depth. There is a mini waterfall from the third pool to the fourth. On the right is a canal, which brings cold water from the top to keep the temperature at a tolerable level. The bottom fifth and sixth pool are the smallest and are hotter than the rest of the pools.
Ardent Hot Springs Resort is covered with natural stone formations and huge tropical trees. Beautiful landscape and stone pathways surrounds the resort leading visitors to the resort’s most frequently visited spots such as the spa and the restaurant.
Ardent Hot Springs Resort is also dotted with picnic huts and tables, and cookout spaces, all rented out for a minimal fee. If you wish to spend the night at the resort, you may rent a room for two or a family room.
During the weekends and on public holidays, the springs can be very busy with local holiday makers but during the week, you will often find yourself alone taking a hot bath under the high trees of a tropical forest.
