Mantigue Island

Mantigue Island is a small island located off the coast of volcanic island province of Camiguin. Mantigue Island is a nature park. It has a forested area rich with different varieties of trees. A trail was established leading to the deeper part of the forest, a 383 meter area where a huge number of bats reside.

Also known locally as Magsaysay Island, it is about 4 hectares (9.9 acres) of greenery fringed with a gleaming white beach of powdery coral sand. One side of the island is a white sand beach with corals offshore, and the opposite side provides a deep drop-off for snorkeling and diving.

Considered a marine sanctuary, it has been a frequent spot for diving enthusiasts. Within the island is a small area for tourists to camp. There are tables available for rental and fresh seafood for grilling. You can walk around Mantigue Island’s white beaches in less than an hour.


Getting to Mantigue Island is easy. Local tour operators will take you there. Mantigue Island can be reached by light water craft in 25–30 minutes from the town of Mahinog.
